About the Role:
We’re looking for a Quantitative Analyst to support and enhance our dayahead and intraday electricity trading across European markets. This role sits directly on the AI team floor, working with data scientists, engineers and business owners to build automated strategies, enhance forecasting models, and drive real-time decision-making in highly volatile short-term markets.
You’ll play a key role in building the next generation of data-driven, algorithmic power trading systems — operating at the milliseconds-to-hours time horizon in markets across Europe.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and refine algorithmic trading strategies for short-term power trades.
- Develop high-frequency predictive models for intraday power prices, imbalance prices, and system conditions.
- Integrate real-time data sources (e.g., weather, grid frequency, outages, market orders, TSO data) into models and trading logic.
- Work closely with data scientists and software engineers to build and optimize execution logic and trade automation tools.
- Backtest, evaluate, and stress-test trading strategies under different market conditions.
- Monitor strategy performance and build diagnostics to support continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the architecture of a scalable intraday trading platform.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong quantitative analysis background (Master’s or PhD in Applied Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with trading (stock, crypto, or energy markets).
- R / Python, SQL
- Developing/Deploying of forecasting/regression/classification models.
- Passion for working close to the market: speed, accuracy, and adaptability under live trading conditions.
- Critical thinking, strong problem-solving skills and time management, eager to learn new things, we actively support open discussion about your own ideas.
What We Offer:
- Option of working remotely or in our office.
